On Sept. 25-27, 2009, World Wind Energy Institute, China Energy Society, IEEE, Power & Energy Society (PES), Chinese Renewable Energy Society, and Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission organized jointly sponsored, and Jiangsu Academy of Macroeconomic Research hosted "The 1st World Non-Grid-Connected Wind Power and Energy Conference 2009"in Nanjing, China. Dr. Weidong Gu, vice president of China Energy Society; the chief scientist of wind project of National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) assumes conference chair. Preben Maegaard, president of the World Wind Energy Institute assumes academic committee chairs. The large scale non-connected wind power wind energy Program is still the first and only project of Chinese 973 Program wind Field. All research diaphyses of non-grid-connected wind power groups attend the conference, who presente many high levels of papers, which has contributed enormously to non-grid-connected wind power research coming to world level and conference successful. This international conference is a high standard conference, covering a wide range, presenting the world leading level, and almost including the experts and scholars of the world highest level in wind energy field. More than 280 participants like experts and scholars of the Wind Energy Institute and Association, IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), Renewable Energy Energy Association from China, the United States, Canada, Japan, Denmark, Egypt, India and other 13 countries, leaders of China Development and Reform Commission, Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission, and Jiangsu Energy Department, and Officials of U.S. Commerce Department attended the meeting. It is not only a high level international academic exchanges meeting of wind power and energy, but also a global event of wind power entrepreneurs and operators who seek new areas, new markets, new technologies of investment and financing. "Network News Broadcast" on China Central Television (CCTV) reported the meeting on the night of September 25. This conference has received 250 articles of specialists and scholars from 13 countries in the wind energy field. After the evaluation of experts, 119 articles are ultimately included in the conference proceedings published by the IEEE and will be indexd by EI.
